Clyro and Llowes W. I

WALK No 2 - approx 2 miles - time 1 1/2 hrs

Commence walk at Clyro Church. Proceed towards centre of village, past the Baskerville hotel, bear right, to join the main A438 road. Turn left towards Hereford; follow the main road for approx 1/2 mile (look out for the traffic)
you will come to a finger-post on the left, just before Lower House Farm. Follow the bridle-path up the hill (can be rather over-grown in places) until you pass Court Evan Gwynne on your right. You will join the Newchurch road.
Turn left and follow the road back into Clyro village.

WALK No 1- approx 2 miles- Time 1 1/2 hrs

Commence walk at Clyro Church. Follow signs to Painscastle. Proceed up the hill to a large house on your right (Pentwyn) after which you will see a finger-post. Go over stile and follow path down into the wood. Crossing the foot-bridge, follow the edge of the brook and then bear right to the 2nd stile, proceed up the rather steep hill until you come to the next stile at the top of the field, keeping the fence and woods to your right. At the top of the field you will see a small gate, go through, and turn immediately left down a narrow track. Bearing to the right you will come to a small stream, cross over and follow up the field to the next gate, passing stables on your left. Cross the field bearing left to the gate opposite. This will bring you to the road. Turn left and follow the road back into Clyro village.

Circular Walks

Commence walk at Clyro Post Office.

Walk down side of Post Office and walk across main Hereford road to finger-post opposite. Cross over stile and head up hill, (bearing right) meeting foot-path signs on the next stile. Head straight across following the direction of the signs, going around the field to your right. Follow signs to entrance of Radnor's End camp site, where you will meet the main road. Turn sharp left down a narrow lane, passing bungalows on your left. Continue past Boat Side Farm for approx 1/2 mile, to a finger- post on your left, cross stile and follow walk signs across fields to Clyro Mill on your right. Turn left and follow walk signs up the hill, turn right at the top of the hill, then follow walk signs back to the start of the walk.
