CLYRO COMMUNITY COUNCIL
has adopted a
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION SCHEME
in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000
Councils are being encouraged to routinely make information available to the public, without it having to be requested. The scheme is intended to encourage local councils to publish more information proactively and to develop a greater culture of openness and transparency.
Clyro Community Council will routinely provide certain information, such as minutes of meetings and the agenda and date of the next meeting, on this website.
We don’t have council offices where documents can be viewed without prior notice, but members of the public are able and entitled to view certain classes of information held by the Community Council, on request, by prior appointment, as detailed below.
General correspondence sent or received by councils and all information relating to private individuals is excluded from the scheme, by virtue of it being personal data under the Data Protection Act 1998.
A limitation on the age of some documents has also been stipulated. For the avoidance of doubt this does not mean information beyond that date cannot be obtained, it simply indicates that it is not available as a matter of course within the publication scheme.
If original documents are more readily available from another source, details of that organisation are again specified in the scheme.
Requests for information/enquiries about the scheme to:
Joy Thompson, Clerk
The Clerk is responsible for maintaining the publication scheme and should be contacted if any issues arise concerning Clyro Community Council’s compliance with the Freedom of Information Act.
